Our Services

As a collaborative partnership, Futures Forward works together to offer accessible services and transitional supports for current and former youth in care. We assist youth ages 15-29 in the areas of mental health, housing, employment, education, and financial counselling.

Youth Service Navigation + Mental Health Supports

  • Assistance in navigating challenging situations including:

    • advocacy, or assistance with government agencies and applications

    • referrals to resources and services

    • assistance with obtaining proper ID

    • support with housing, including referrals to supported housing services

    • service navigation within the mental health and addictions systems

  • Free counselling ​

    • assistance with relationships, mental health and wellness, and life transitions​

    • offered on a short-term or long-term basis

  • Cultural wellness support for Indigenous Youth

Transitional Supports to Post Secondary + Employment Services

  • Transitional Supports to Post Secondary

    • Information about Tuition Waivers, bursaries, student aid and other funding options 

    • Assistance with career/education exploration, program selection, and exploring funding options 

    • Assistance with completing post secondary applications and bursary applications 

  • Supports for Students​

    • Supports throughout post-secondary studies via regular check ins

    • Monthly Student Support group via Zoom or in-person in Winnipeg

    • Connections to post-secondary and community resources in areas such as advising, advocacy, mental health, housing, budgeting, counselling, and more

  • Employment Services ​

    • Assistance with ​career planning, developing resumes and cover letters, interview preparation and job search assistance

    • Free training opportunities, referrals to community resources

Financial Counselling 

  • Information and assistance with

    • banking and credit

    • budgeting and spending plans

    • rental agreements

    • navigating debt such as cell phone contracts and student loans 

  • Free income tax preparation for simple returns

  • Financial incentives up to $100 for participation
